New for 2021 is a hybrid powertrain option, offering excellent fuel economy and a more extended driving range. No matter your desires or performance needs, there is a Ford F-150 that is perfect for you. Keep reading to learn more before you visit your Ford dealership in Junction City, KS.

Engine and Performance
The New 2021 Ford F-150 will offer several available engines, including a:
    290-hp 3.3-liter V-6
    400-hp 5.0-liter V-8
    325-hp twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6
    400-hp twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6
    250-hp 3.0-liter diesel V-6
Each of these engines is matched with a 10-speed automatic. Ford is also producing an F-150 with a hybrid powertrain in 2021.

The new hybrid powertrain consists of a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and a 35 kW electric motor. It will produce 430-hp and 570 lb-ft of torque on 700 miles of driving range per tank. You can choose between rear- and four-wheel drive with any available powertrain.

Towing Capacity
The base F-150's 3.3-liter V-6 engine's towing capacity tops out at 8,200 lbs, but models equipped with the 3.5-liter V-6 can tow a max of 14,000 pounds. The grand 5.0-liter V-8 can tow a max of just 13,000 pounds, the diesel V-6 pulls up to 12,100 pounds, and the hybrid maxes out at 12,700.

These towing and payload capacities keep Ford's truck competitive with other leading pickups in its class.

Upgraded Interior
The 2021 Ford F-150 gets several upgrades this year, including premium materials and more available storage. If you use your F-150 as a mobile workspace, you'll appreciate the added convenience features, such as the shift lever that can be folded flat with the center console to create a flat workspace. You can also order the truck with fold-flat front seats that become a place to sleep if needed.  The four-door crew-cab model is the most family-friendly and spacious of the lineup.

The bed of the F-150 received several improvements, such as available power-operated running boards that extend along the side of the truck. These provide a handy step to reach into the truck's cargo area. An available onboard generator can provide up to 7.2-kW of power if needed at a job site or tailgate party.

Infotainment Features
The F-150 comes standard with an 8.0-inch touch screen display that runs Ford's SYNC 4 software. A larger, 12.0-inch touch screen will also be available. Also, standard is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A Wi-Fi hotspot will be offered, as well as SiriusXM radio, navigation, and a Bang & Olufsen premium stereo system.

SYNC 4 can provide over-the-air updates for software releases and traffic-and-weather updates through the optional navigation system. You'll also have access to board telematics for fleet customers to help track vehicle usage and location.

Trim Levels
The Ford F-150 will come in seven trim levels. The available models include the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited, and Raptor. There are six engine options based on trim level and additional customization options for each. Let's compare the different trims:

XL
The base option, XL, has several advanced features not typically found on base trims, such as a backup camera, active safety features, and automatic high beams.

If you're looking for a work truck, the XL is an excellent option because it will meet your basic needs at a low starting MSRP. Those that opt for the SuperCrew cab will have seating for up to six people. If you're hoping to tow, the dynamic hitch assist feature that's integrated into the rearview camera helps you line your truck's ball hitch with your trailer's tongue.

XLT
The 2021 Ford F-150 XLT upgrades several basic interior and exterior features of the XL.  The XLT opens up the F-150's options menu. At this level, you can add on features such as the premium Bang & Olufsen speaker system and the 12.0-inch touch screen infotainment system.

Lariat
The Lariat comes standard with a 12.0-inch touch screen display. It also opens doors to further options, including an 18-speaker B&O audio system and the Active Drive Assist hands-free driving system. This arrangement combines the truck's adaptive cruise control and lane-centering system with its interior cameras that monitor your head position and gaze.

King Ranch
The King Ranch is an upgrade from the Lariat, offering luxury options for a pickup truck. It provides comfy interior touchpoints and deluxe cabin feels. This trim level comes with the Max Recline Seats option, which allows the seats to recline fully and adds literal sleeping space to your truck's cabin. However, this only scratches the surface of cossetting trim options.

Platinum
If you're looking for more options, the Platinum may be what you're looking for. The Ford F-150 Platinum has its trim-specific look and higher-end features. It brings all the must-have features, including the Max Recline seats and more.

Limited
The top-of-the-line Limited trim can be considered pickup royalty. It is the most luxurious, riding on 22-inch wheels and equipped with all standard equipment and active safety features such as the Ford Co-Pilot360 system, which helps you navigate the road with many features.
