The 2021 Ford F-250 comes in six trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. It looks boxy and muscular, and the big, bold black or chrome grille has the iconic Ford logo in the middle. You'll also get manually-folding side mirrors, 17-inch wheels, front tow hooks, a removable tailgate with step, and tinted windows. Two bed lengths and three cab sizes are available. You can add a power tailgate, automatic high beams, fog lights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, privacy glass, power running boards, and heated, power-folding side mirrors with memory settings. Other options include a bed liner, a hard or soft cover for the bed, LED roof clearance lights, splash guards, storable loading ramps, a power-sliding rear window, a power moonroof, skid plates, and 18- or 20-inch wheels.
Engine (Power)
With this truck, you can choose from three powerful engines and a six-speed or 10-speed automatic transmission. The 6.2-liter V-8 gives 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, and the 7.3-liter V-8 engine offers 430 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. With the 6.7-liter diesel V-8, you'll get 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque. The diesel option also has an exhaust brake with auto on and off settings.
Performance
The 2021 F-250 has excellent acceleration, plenty of power, and a smooth ride. It can tow up to 20,000 pounds, and it comes with trailer sway control, power steering, heavy-duty shocks, and stability control.
Additional options include a trailer brake controller, a 48-gallon gas tank, an engine block heater, four-wheel drive, and automatic start/stop technology, which helps you save gas in stop-and-go traffic and when you're waiting at red lights. Normal, Tow/Haul, Eco, Slippery, Rock Crawl, and Deep Sand/Snow driving modes are also available. With Live-Drive Power Takeoff, you can power accessories like snowplows. The optional Trail Control works like a low-speed, off-road version of cruise control.
Interior
The F-250 comes with vinyl upholstery, two first-row LCD monitors, audio controls on the steering wheel, a 2.3-inch productivity screen for the instrument cluster, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and a four-speaker sound system. You can add a 4.2- or 8-inch productivity screen, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, wireless charging, two 100-volt power outlets, SiriusXM satellite radio, a lockable storage space underneath the rear seats, folding front and rear seats, push-button start, two glove boxes, keyless entry, navigation, a heated steering wheel, and remote start. Suede or leather seats with heating, cooling, and memory settings are available as well.
Safety Features
A variety of safety features, including a security system with an engine immobilizer and a panic alarm, a rearview camera, and six air bags, help you and your passengers stay safe. You can select a 360-degree camera system, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and lane change alert.
